Casio Privia PX 100
The Casio Privia PX 100 is a firm favorite with digital piano players everywhere. Not only is it small enough to store under your bed but it has a full 88 keys. Digital pianos often do not sound remotely like the acoustic versions but the hammer action keyboard on the Casio certainly helps.
I love the pop, jazz and rock background arrangements whilst the inbuilt songs are fantastic as well. The beauty of playing a digital piano as opposed to an acoustic is the fact you can change the sounds between strings and pipes i.e. you are not just left with a piano sound.
The Casio Privia PX 100 will help beginners to learn how to play as well. The built in metronome will help them with their timing whilst the preloaded tunes will help you to learn songs and develop co-ordination.
You can also download additional music from the internet as there is room for 10 more songs in addition to the 30 built in ones. You can also record your playing and play it back for analysis later on. This will help those learning to play the piano whilst also proving to their teachers they are practicing daily!
If you are into creating computerised sounds, the PX 100 offers a really fancy midi controller. You may find the speakers a little on the small size but you can plug the Casio into bigger ones if you so choose. Some people find the pedal a little small but again you can use an alternative.
Some people are disappointed with the lack of additional extras that you usually find with digital pianos. In fact some of the more expensive pianos are more like computers than a musical instrument but for this price, for those that are just looking for a musical instrument this is an excellent piano.
You can practice as long as you like as the headphones mean you do not have to disturb the rest of your family. You can add the whole orchestra effect at the push of a button when creating your musicial masterpiece.
If you are looking to buy an inexpensive digital piano whilst not doing without some excellent features, you would be hard pushed to beat an investment into a Casio Privia PX 100.
